Simple Minds played a sell-out greatest hits gig to thousands at a packed Caird Hall in Dundee.
Nearly 30 years after their last performance at the venue, the chart topping band delighted 2,200 fans by performing songs from their forthcoming album, Celebrate The Greatest Hits.
The show was the first homecoming gig for Dundee-born bass player Ged Grimes, who is also founder member of Dundee band Danny Wilson and played with Deacon Blue.
The performance was one of only two Scottish gigs on the 28-date tour with an Aberdeen gig played on Monday.
Simple Minds fan Jason Black of Arbroath said: “It’s brilliant to have the Minds back in Dundee. I’ve seen them six or seven times but it is great to see them in Dundee.”
The crowd started jumping and clapping when the band performed Waterfront, the second song of the night.
Another fan said: “Simple minds played Dundee like they had never been away.”
The new album, released last month, sees the band follow up on their acclaimed 5X5 tour last year and also follows several festival appearances, including at T in the Park last summer.
There are two album versions, the larger with 50 hits. Both collections also include two new songs Broken Glass Park and Blood Diamonds.
