A group of Travellers who have been staying on the outskirts of Dundee for more than a fortnight were still encamped on roads off Jack Martin Way on the Claverhouse industrial estate.
When The Courier went to the site on Monday night, there were still at least 13 caravans parked in the road. Cars and work vans were also parked around the estate and at least one tent was pitched.
An eviction order for the Travellers was granted at the city’s sheriff court and issued to Dundee City Council, who can now serve the order to the Travellers.
The group arrived at Jack Martin Way two weeks ago from another part of the estate, where they left an estimated 150 tons of rubbish and debris that cost thousands of pounds to clear.
Police were put on stand-by last Sunday night after receiving a report that there may be trouble between two sets of travelling people at the Riverside Inn in Riverside Drive.
The groups that did arrive at the restaurant, however, were said to behave “perfectly well.”
