A secretary at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee embezzled more than £50,000 from a charity based at the hospital.
Lorraine Warden, 44, of Dalgetty Court, Muirhead, admitted the charge at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
She admitted that, between January 1, 2007, and August 31, 2012, at Ninewells Hospital, while employed as a secretary of the NHS and the University of Dundee, assisting with management of the Tayside Otolaryngology Fund at Ward 26, she embezzled £55,000.
After her plea was lodged, Sheriff Elizabeth Munro adjourned the case for a narration of the facts to be prepared by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until January 13 and she was granted bail.
The Tayside Otolaryngology Fund is a registered charity which raises cash to send doctors on training courses.
