RESIDENTS OF Dundee’s West End have only days left to express their views on a proposed parking scheme that could cost them up to £80 a year for a permit.
Around 7,000 homes and business in an area west of Marketgait, east of Richmond Court and south of Blackness Road were sent a letter by the city council containing details of the proposals.
City development convener Will Dawson said: “Going out to consultation on this issue to gauge the true feelings of residents was the right thing to do.
“When the exercise closes on Friday all of the responses will be analysed and a report brought back to the city development committee with the results.”
So far around 580 comments have been received via council’s website and by letter and email.
A questionnaire and maps showing the boundaries of the scheme are on the website.
West End councillor Richard McCready said nobody had spoken to him in favour of the proposals.
“It is really, really important that local residents respond to the consultation before it closes on Friday,” he added.
