Hammers, knives, razors, darts and knitting needles were among the weapons confiscated at Dundee Sheriff Court over the past four years.
Almost 800 weapons have been taken from people trying to get through court doors.
The number of pairs of scissors found by court staff during front door checks increased from eight in 2009 to 19 last year.
Encouragingly, the number of offensive weapons seized through the years has decreased year by year.
In 2009 a staggering 310 weapons were confiscated, including 146 syringes and 27 boxcutters.
The following year there were 290, and in 2011 there were 116.
Last year, security staff confiscated 74 weapons, including four screwdrivers, 16 syringes and nine razors.
A spokesman for the Scottish Court Service said: “Courts sit within public buildings and the Scottish Court Service takes the safety of all court users very seriously.
“The Scottish Court Service works closely with its partners, including the police, to take all reasonable precautions against weapons being introduced into court buildings.
“The discovery of any weapon or potential weapon by staff is immediately reported to police, who have responsibility for public order in all court buildings.”
