Five staff at Dundee care home Monroe House suspended
ByThe Courier Reporter
Five members of staff at a private Dundee care hospital have been suspended, apparently after allegations were made to management of “inappropriate” behaviour.
The Courier understands complaints were lodged by family members of residents at Monroe House in Americanmuir Road.
It is understood the suspensions, thought to be of carers, took place on Tuesday and owners Castlebeck Care have confirmed the action.
A spokesperson said they could not comment on any individual allegations.
“We can confirm that five members of staff have been suspended pending full investigation of the facts of the allegations.
“The team at Monroe House is committed to the safety and wellbeing of everyone cared for at the hospital and we have a zero-tolerance approach to any inappropriate behaviour by staff.
“In the event of any complaint of inappropriate behaviour we act immediately. This would include the suspension of staff as appropriate.”
Monroe House offers services for the care and rehabilitation of adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviour.
