Police block off area near Linlathen after ‘incident’
ByThe Courier Reporter
Police sealed off an area near the Linlathen estate on the eastern outskirts of Dundee last night after a report of a disturbance involving a man.
At least six police vehicles with dog handlers were despatched to the scene north of the Clearwater Park housing estate off the A92 Dundee-Arbroath road at about 5pm.
It is understood a man’s behaviour was causing concern and it was felt police were needed to deal with the incident.
Police blocked the access road to Linlathen Neurodisability Centre, which leads on to a farm and cottages in the estate and only care home staff and visitors were being allowed through.
Anyone heading for the farm or cottages was stopped and questioned about their business.
Two Courier reporters and a photographer tried to reach the farm but were asked by officers to leave the area.
Police said a senior officer was called in to take command of the incident, the nature of which he would not reveal.
Later, a spokeswoman for the force would say only that officers were dealing with an incident on the Linlathen estate, and inquiries were ongoing.
No one had been arrested, she added.
