Football supporters get their own Dundee derby day
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee’s Scottish Cup derby day is fast approaching but football fans in the city will also get the chance to go head-to-head with their rivals at a charity supporters’ match in May.
Dark Blues and Arabs will fight it out on the pitch at Dens Road to be crowned winners of the Rivals4Charity game on May 25.
The charity match is the brainchild of Hearts fan Scott Moncrieff (38), who has been running charity matches between Hearts and Hibs supporters in Edinburgh since 2006.
He has raised nearly £60,000 for charity through the games.
Now it is Dundee’s turn, with training sessions for prospective players due to start at the end of the month and money raised going to the Homeless World Cup Foundation.
