‘Worst nightmare’ family’s pain over killer Callum Tole’s appeal
ByThe Courier Reporter
The family of a murdered Dundee grandfather have branded his killer’s decision to appeal his conviction and sentence as their “worst nightmare”.
The Courier can reveal that Callum Tole (30) has taken the first legal steps in a bid to overturn his conviction and 18-year minimum prison term for murdering 44-year-old Ronald Fraser.
Mr Fraser’s sister Karen Beattie said last night that she could not believe the “audacity” of Tole, who was jailed at the High Court in Livingston last month.
Drug addict Tole was jailed for the murder of 44-year-old Mr Fraser following a six-day trial.
A jury took 30 minutes to convict Tole, who taunted Mr Fraser’s family as he was led from the dock.
