15-year-old pupil’s jaw broken in alleged attack at Morgan Academy

A 15-year-old Dundee schoolboy needed emergency surgery after his jaw was broken in an alleged playground attack.
The incident took place in the grounds of Morgan Academy at around 3.45pm on Friday, just minutes after the end of the school day.
Police said they have charged a 14-year-old boy in connection with the attack but that inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A 17-year-old boy also suffered minor facial injuries in the alleged attack.
The boy whose jaw was broken underwent emergency surgery at Ninewells Hospital on Saturday morning.
“We can confirm a 14-year-old has been charged and reported to the Youth Justice Assessor for further consideration following a disturbance in the grounds of Morgan Academy,” a police spokesman said.
“As a result of the incident, two boys required hospital attention.”
