A man has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after he initially declined treatment for injuries sustained in an incident in Dundee.
Police say emergency services were called to Strathmartine Road, near Butterburn Square, at around 9.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a disturbance.
They found a 38-year-old man with facial injuries, but he declined medical attention.
While police continued their investigation, the ambulance service was called to an address in Strathmartine Road on Wednesday where the man injured the previous day was found to be unconscious.
He was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where he is understood to be in a critical condition.
Police say an 18-year-old man has been detained and is helping with enquiries.
