Dundee taxi driver crushed by own car dies in hospital

A Dundee taxi driver who was crushed by his own car when it rolled backwards in his driveway has died in hospital.

Seventy-four-year old Anthony Carlin was rushed to hospital on Wednesday night after his car rolled backwards and pinned him against a wall outside his Kirkton Avenue home.

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he was placed on a ventilator in the intensive care unit.

However, he lost his battle for life this morning.

Mr Carlin was an employee of Tele Taxis.
