Reception promotes White Ribbon Campaign against violence

Around 50 men from the Dundee area who take an active role in challenging violence against women attended a civic reception in the City Chambers this week.

The event included a one-woman play about rape, called One Lonely Word, performed by Naomi Breeze.

Dundee Violence Against Women Partnership co-ordinator Catherine Sharp said the reception was being held to promote the White Ribbon Campaign.

Male representatives of a number of public-sector organisations including Tayside Police, Dundee City Council and NHS Tayside were present, along with male representatives from voluntary-sector organisations.
