Tributes have been paid to an amateur footballer who died in an alleged stabbing incident at a block of flats in Dundee.
Ronald Fraser died on Friday night after an incident at a flat on the ninth floor of Elders Court in Lochee.
Paramedics attended around 7.20pm and attempts were made to revive Mr Fraser, who lived alone in the property, but without success.
His sister Karen Beattie (48) said, “He was just our world. He was my only brother and we are just in shock.
“He was a devoted dad to his daughter and just absolutely loved his family.”
From the Beechwood area of the city, Ronald (44) who was known as Ronnie to friends attended Lochee Primary School and Harris Academy. He has a 22-year-old daughter and a grandson.
Robert Mitchell (56), who grew up and played football with Mr Fraser in the Beechwood area, said, “He was an awfully good football player and a very good lad. I was really shocked to hear what happened.”
A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder following the incident and is due to appear from custody at court in Dundee today.
