Royal Mail has been left red-faced after delivering hundreds of election leaflets to the wrong constituency.
Posties delivered leaflets for SNP and Labour candidates for Dundee East and Dundee West to residents in Mill o’ Mains.
It is understood confusion over boundary changes which saw Mill o’ Mains move from Dundee East to Dundee West for Scottish Parliament elections led to the error.
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said, “Unfortunately, Royal Mail has delivered 400 election leaflets for the Dundee East constituency into the Dundee West constituency by error. This was due to a data mistake regarding boundaries.
“Royal Mail has rectified the error and we apologise for any confusion or upset this may have caused.”
Councillor Brian Gordon said, “Royal Mail delivered free election candidate leaflets for Dundee East one day and then the very next day they delivered free election candidate leaflets for Dundee West.
“Dundee West is correct but I’m worried voters in Mill o’ Mains will be confused about who they’re able to vote for.”
The Dundee West candidates are Joe FitzPatrick (SNP), Richard McCready (Labour), Alison Ruth Burns (Lib Dems) and Colin Stewart (Conservative).
The Dundee East candidates are Shona Robison (SNP), Mohammed Asif (Labour), Brian Docherty (Conservative) and Allan Petrie (Lib Dems).
