Police are still hunting two men who robbed a runner at knifepoint in a terrifying daylight attack.
The 23-year-old victim was left “shaken” by the ordeal, which took place at the rear of the Whitfield shops on Sunday afternoon.
The man was running along the Centre Path when two men stopped him, then threatened him with a knife and stole a small sum of money at around 12.55pm.
Police are attempting to trace the attackers, who ran westwards along the Centre Path towards Dargavel Gardens.
“We are reviewing public and private CCTV and door-to-door inquiries are being carried out in the area,” said a spokesman for the force. “Although the victim was not injured, he was understandably shaken as a result of the incident.”
Both men are described as being very thin, in their late 20s to early 30s, with short, black hair heavily gelled and combed forward.
The first is said to be around 5ft 10in with a pock-marked complexion, and bad teeth. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with white writing across the middle of the chest, dark blue jeans and white trainers.
The second was around 6ft and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and white trainers.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery, or who believes they saw the incident, can contact police on 0300 111 2222 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
