‘He’s like one of our kids’ have you seen missing parrot Beaky?

A Dundee woman remained “hopeful” last night that her beloved 12-year-old parrot would be found safe and well after it escaped at the weekend.
Helen Nelson (42), a baker from Fintry, says she has been left “heartbroken” since Beaky made his bid for freedom out of the back door on Saturday night.
Since then the mum-of-three has scoured the neighbourhood in desperate hope of spotting the exotic bird.
She has even phoned the police, the PDSA and the SSPCA at Petterden to see if anyone has reported her missing Senegal parrot with his striking green and yellow plumage, but to no avail.
“I’ve had him from when he was about two,” Helen said. “I’m heartbroken. He’s like a part of the family he’s like one of our kids.”
Helen has also posted missing parrot adverts online and was up in the early hours hunting for Beaky.
Beaky is small for a parrot, green with a yellow breast and a black and grey face. Anyone who has seen him can get in touch with Helen on 01382 508405.
