Cocktail dresses, cupcakes and champagne were the order of the day for over 400 women who flocked to a trio of fabulous Sex and the City girls’ nights out in Dundee over the weekend.
To celebrate the release of Sex and the City 2, two local women organised the weekend festivities, including whisking the SJP fans from a drinks and cupcake reception at Discovery Point and a private champagne screening of the film at Odeon, Douglasfield.
Organiser Melissa Burns (24) said, “Saturday was fantastic and tonight’s the finale so it should be good, too.”
This is the second time Melissa has organised a Sex and the City party along with Louise Graham (25).
The girls got together two years ago to organise a similar event to mark the release of the first film.
Melissa said, “The weekend’s been really successful and the girls have loved it. If there was a third film we’d have to do it again.”
Wave 102’s Jon Quipp was DJ for the women after the screenings and claimed it had been hard work.
He said, “I’ve been doing all three nights and they’ve been really good.
“To entertain 450 women for a weekend has been trying.
After the screening the women were taken back to Discovery Point for an after-show party where sexy sailors were auctioned off to provide services including a home-cooked meal and gardening duties.
All money raised from the “sexy sailors” auction and raffle was donated to Dreamz4u and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Ticket-holders rounded off the night living it up in the Fat Sams VIP lounge.
