Officials from a Dundee football team have refused to comment after being quizzed about trouble at a local amateur cup final where a supporter allegedly struck the referee with a bag.
The Scottish Youth Football Association’s (SYFA) general purpose committee questioned Celtic Boys Club representatives over alleged disorder at its under-15s tie against Forfar Boys.
It is claimed there were various flashpoints during the game being played to decide the winner of the J Bolton Cup.
One witness said the match, at Dundee’s North End Park, ended in “bedlam” after tempers flared.
The showcase tie was watched by senior members of the Dundee and District Youth Football Association and president Jim Falconer was one of the cited witnesses at Thursday night’s hearing at Hampden.
It is understood a number of supporters of Forfar Boys, as well as the club itself, provided written statements to the SFYA ahead of the hearing.
The exact nature of the charges raised against the Dundee side by the SYFA have not been made public.
However, any finding against Celtic Boys could have serious consequences as the committee has the power to bring a number of sanctions against a member club including levying a fine, deducting points or even expelling it from the association.
A Celtic Boys spokesman refused to say what finding was reached, but added the club would issue a statement soon.
