Shoppers were given a close-up look at the Olympic torch when it visited Dundee at the weekend.
Accompanying the torch was Olympic hopeful Sian Bruce, who encouraged people in the City Square to nominate local heroes to carry the flame in the run-up to the games in London next year.
Organisers are looking for 8000 people who have made a difference in their communities to be given the chance to take part in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Tour, a 70-day relay across the UK.
Sian (18), from Dundee, is already the British No. 2 skeet shooter and hopes to be selected as the squad’s reserve.
She was welcomed by minister for Commonwealth Games and sport Shona Robison, who took her eight-year-old daughter Morag to see the torch.
The Dundee East MSP said she has nominated one of Britain’s top amputee speed walkers, Ronnie McIntosh from Dundee, to be a torchbearer.
“Scotland’s going to have a very important role in the torch relay and it’s important to get as many nominations as possible,” she said.
