Drivers in Dundee are in for more traffic headaches when one of the city’s busiest routes is hit by roadworks.
Parts of South Marketgait will be closed on four consecutive evenings later this month due to work on the Tay Road Bridge ramps as part of the multi-million-pound transformation of the city’s waterfront.
The gap between the two ramps over South Marketgait will be filled in to accommodate a temporarily widened on/off-ramp, meaning the westbound and then eastbound carriageway below will be closed.
South Marketgait will be closed westbound on June 14 and 15 and eastbound on June 16 and 17.
A Dundee City Council spokesman said diversions notifying drivers of alternative routes will be clearly signposted and businesses and residents have been sent leaflets detailing the latest stage of the works.
A telephone line, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 0800 330 8583, has also been set up by contractor Farrans.
Work started on the £6 million project funded by the council and Scottish Enterprise last month.
