The military funeral of Dundee soldier and climbing instructor Gordon Brass will take place on Wednesday.
Corporal Brass, who served in Iraq with The Black Watch and was known to friends as ‘Gogs’, fell to his death at Legaston Quarry near Friockheim on May 28.
Heartfelt tributes poured into a Facebook group set up in his memory, while his family said the 34-year-old had “touched the lives of everyone he knew.”
Cpl Brass’ funeral will be at Dundee Crematorium at 10.15am. His coffin will be draped in the union flag and carried into the building by regimental colleagues and friends.
His medals, Glengarry and belt will also sit on top of the casket, although there will be no firing party.
Donations in lieu of flowers will go to The Black Watch Heritage Appeal.
Cpl Brass was leading a group of students from Kirkcaldy’s Adam Smith College in a practical session of their army preparation course.
