Mystery surrounds Showcase the Street staff member’s sacking
ByNews reporter
A staff member has been sacked from a Dundee organisation that opens the world of dance, drama, vocal skills and animation to young people.
It is understood the allegation involved data protection and other issues at Showcase the Street and the charity believed it amounted to gross misconduct.
The accusations do not directly involve any of the children.
Trustee Scott Downie would only say: ”A member of staff was dismissed on January 20 but I cannot comment further at this point pending further legal action.”
The woman at the centre of the probe also declined to comment.
All activities are still running normally.
Showcase the Street is a charity operating from a building in Dundee with two dance and recording studios and has a newly-opened building in Arbroath.
It also works throughout Tayside and engages about 700 young people a week, including young carers and young people in respite care.
The charity is funded by the National Lottery and by the Inspiring Scotland project.
