Molly the dog heads home after Garland Place fire ordeal

Molly the miracle dog who was rescued by firefighters from a burning Dundee flat last week after a six-hour ordeal has finally gone home.
The border terrier survived despite being trapped by flames during the blaze at the tenement in Garland Place, near Dudhope Park.
Owner Alan Thompson had tried to get both Molly and his other dog Mac out when he scrambled on to a ladder from his top-floor flat as the blaze took hold.
However, the dogs were spooked by his window breaking to make his escape route and ran off.
Molly was later found perched on a high windowsill by Tayside Fire and Rescue. Mac did not make it out of the fire.
Alan said he was relieved to be reunited with Molly as the pair recover from their ordeal with family.
”I’ve to watch and not let her run about too much and get exhausted or end up heavy breathing,” he added. ”She’s had an X-ray and it’s not as bad as they thought it could have been.”
Alan also said a mystery Good Samaritan had paid for much of the vet’s bill.
”A woman I just know is called Jennifer phoned the vet and paid for part of my bill.”
