Staff from Sensation Science Centre in Dundee welcomed a former NASA astronaut to host a seminar detailing his career.
Bjarni Tryggvason of the Canadian Space Agency provided a lecture and question and answer session, where he gave insights into his missions.
Visitors learned more about the missions he flew in the 1980s and 90s and his role on the first Canadian space flight in 1983.
The event was organised as part of the centre’s space exhibition, which features a planetarium show.
Bjarni said, “The seminar went very well and I was able to speak about my space mission in 1997 and explain what we had to do to get there and how we prepared for our flight in space.
“There were a lot of really good questions from adults and children in the audience.
“I have been to Dundee before, but this time we are really busy working with the space school, so I don’t think there will be much time to have a look around.
“The exhibition here is small but it is one of the best that I have seen.”
Sensation director of science and learning Hannah Crookes said, “We have organised a series of activities for adults and children related to space and we are delighted that Bjarni agreed to come along and make a special visit.”
