A Dundee nursery is seeking permission to more than double the number of children it can look after.
The nursery at 309 Strathmartine Road, run by Jan Brown, was previously the target of enforcement action by the city council, which wanted to restrict it to catering for no more than six children at a time.
After an appeal heard by a Scottish Government planning official, consent was granted this year for the limit to be raised to 12.
Now Mrs Brown is asking the council for planning permission to increase the number of children to 25.
Her planning consultant Jane Fox has told the council this would not harm residential amenity or the environmental quality of the area, nor create traffic problems.
There would be eight parking spaces available on-site.
She noted that the nursery had developed from a childminding business begun in 2006, and said: ”This use has carried on without the generation of any neighbour complaints to the council.
”The use evolved as a direct result of the demands of the local community for high-quality nursery places for their children.
”This type and quality of children’s nursery is in high demand and the applicant currently has a waiting list for 10 further children’s places.”
