Plumbing firm director broke man’s arm in Broughty Ferry assault

A Dundee company director left a former classmate with a broken arm and bruising to his face and hands after he assaulted him in Broughty Ferry, Dundee Sheriff Court has heard.

Mark Moores (46), director of M&M Plumbing, Tannadice Street, was ordered to pay David Hill £1,000 compensation by Sheriff Tom Hughes, who also imposed 200 hours’ community service.

Moores, of School Road, had been sitting in a Brook Street pub on December 2 when Mr Hill recognised him as someone he had been at school with and went over to speak to him.

Depute fiscal Carol Whyte said: ”As soon as Mr Hill left the bar, Mr Moores got out of his seat and followed him outside.

”He confronted Mr Hill, pushed him out the door and told him not to come back, then pushed him against the wall, causing him to stagger along Brook Street.

”Mr Hill went back into the pub and Mr Moores got up and chased him outside.”

Mr Moores then attacked the complainant.

Moores admitted that, on December 2, at Brook Street in Broughty Ferry, he assaulted David Hill and punched him on the head and repeatedly kicked him on the body, all to his severe injury.
