Three youths have been arrested in connection with an alleged disturbance at the KFC fast-food outlet in Dundee’s Camperdown Leisure Park on Monday night.
A police spokesman said a 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds, all male, would be reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to charges of breach of the peace and other alleged offences.
He said more arrests were expected over the weekend and added that the force wanted to thank everyone who had assisted their inquiries.
A large number of youths were involved in the incident, which is believed to have involved rival factions from two secondary schools, although officers have not named the schools.
Prior to the arrests being confirmed, Chief Inspector David Barclay said, “We will be interviewing some people today and over the weekend.
“We have spoken to members of the public and school teachers, and some pupils have come forward with information which has been very helpful.”
He also explained that patrols in the area had been stepped up.
He said, “There will be a lot of police activity in and around that area just to ensure there won’t be any collateral damage to other events like the Flower and Food Festival in Camperdown Park.”
