A 35-year-old man has died after collapsing in his Monifieth home.
Grant Lees suffered a heart attack in the back of an ambulance while being rushed to Ninewells Hospital.
His family said they were in shock at the death of ”active” Grant and wanted closure on the tragedy.
Younger brother Garry Lees (30) said: ”We are all devastated.
”My wife and I were in Las Vegas when we heard what had happened.
”As soon as we heard the news we came straight home.
”He had no underlying health issues. He was fit, he went to the gym.
”We had just started playing golf together.
”It’s such a shock. We just can’t live with not knowing why.”
Mr Lees, an offshore worker with Expro, had recently come home from a holiday with his fiance, Linsey McIntosh.
He lived with her in Monifieth along with her teenage son, Liam.
The former Monifieth High pupil had complained of a pain and asked for an ambulance to be called.
Paramedics attended to Mr Lees in the Foundry Place house.
However, he suffered a cardiac arrest in the ambulance and later passed away.
Mr Lees’ parents, Tom and Elaine, travelled to Ninewells Hospital to meet their son. However, he had died by the time they arrived.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: ”We received a call at 1.09pm on December 5 about a 35-year-old male who was conscious and breathing but showing symptoms of chest pain going into his stomach.
”The patient went into cardiac arrest in the back of the ambulance while on route to hospital.
”We were there within 10 minutes, but he was presenting cardiac symptoms on the scene.”
