An asylum seeker who was deported from his adopted home of Fife last year is rebuilding his life in Nepal.
Kishor Dangol (48) was removed from the UK in August, having lived in Kirkcaldy for 12 years.
The UK Border Agency said he had no right to stay in the UK because it was safe for him to return to Nepal.
Speaking exclusively to The Courier, Mr Dangol said: ”I would like to clarify that the situation in Nepal is not bleak. Nepal is rapidly coming towards a peaceful path, and the politicians, parties, civil society, intellectuals, all are working hard to bring peace and prosperity in Nepal.”
He continued: ”After coming back to Nepal, I spent some time in travelling and meeting my friends and relatives. To my surprise, I have not been able to find any job. I am still struggling to find a suitable one, but in vain.
”Nepal was struck by political uncertainty and then by armed insurgency for long, long time and now I see unemployment as the major challenge. Thousands of skilled and educated people are unemployed in Nepal.”
Mr Dangol said he has not ruled out returning to Scotland one day.
”During my stay, I got a very good opportunity to learn the culture and living style of Scottish people and the Nepalese community living there.
”I am still interested in working and contributing to Scottish society and the Nepalese community residing in Scotland. I have a firm interest in meeting and working with my Scottish friends.”
He added: “While consulting with Scottish barristers, I was advised that I could again live and contribute in Scotland if a sponsorship is provided to me or a certain specific project is given to me.
”I am fully hopeful that I will have a nice reunion with … all my well wishers.”
