Three people have appeared in court on charges of attempted murder following a serious assault in Buckaven in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident resulted in a 33 year-old sustaining a serious head injury following a disturbance outside an address in Lawrence Street around 1.15am.
Two women aged 26 and 19-year-old and a 24-year-old man appeared in private and on petition at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
James Potts, 24, of Dunfermline, made no plea or declaration to an attempted murder charge.
The case was committed for further examination and the accused was remanded in custody.

Shaana Stafford, 19, of Bedlington, made no plea or declaration to an attempted murder charge and a charge that she caused distress and alarm in a racial manner.
The case was committed for further examination and she was remanded in custody.
All three are due to appear in court again on February 3.
Police have been carrying out door to door enquiries in the area to find out more information from local residents and brought in extra officers dedicated to investigating the incident.
