Further roadworks misery in store for motorists in Kirkcaldy
ByJonathan Watson
Motorists in Kirkcaldy are being braced for more misery after a second major set of roadworks was announced.
Hendry Road, one of the town’s busiest thoroughfares, is to be resurfaced throughout next month, with road closures and traffic lights likely to cause chaos in the north of the town.
This latest set of work coincides with roadworks taking place at Abbotshall Church, which has brought disruption over the past fortnight.
Work at Hendry Road will start on Monday February 9 and continue through to Friday February 23.
Crews will be on site from 9.30am to 3.30am, meaning that rush-hour traffic will be unaffected, although bus services will experience some disruption.
Residents are also being warned of potential access restrictions.
Tom Robb, technician engineer at Fife Council, said: “The works at Hendry Road are being undertaken to repair the surface of a worn out road.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
