‘Reckless’ brick-hurling vandals put Glenrothes drivers at danger
ByJonathan Watson
“Reckless” vandals threw bricks and stones at motorists driving on one of Glenrothes’ busiest roads.
Police are hunting a number of youths after cars were damaged on the town’s Western Avenue on Saturday night.
The incident happened at around 9pm, with the items thrown at oncoming traffic from a footbridge.
Although nobody was injured, cars were damaged in the attacks.
Sergeant Kenny Greig, who is leading the investigation, said: “These crimes show an utter disregard for the safety of others and these reckless acts could have resulted in somebody being seriously injured.
“I would ask anyone with information to contact us, anonymously if they wish. I am sure the answer to this crime is in the community. In every case of vandalism there is a victim.
“There is a significant cost to individuals, businesses and public services. We want to make sure the persons ruining the quality of life in our area are brought to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
