Police have returned to the scene of an accident that claimed the life of a young boy in Glenrothes.
The nine-year-old, who has not been named, died after being involved in an accident with a black Corsa on the A92 between the Cadham and Balfarg junctions on Tuesday evening.
The accident scene was closed again this afternoon to allow further investigation work to be carried out by police in daylight conditions.
Councillor John Beare, who represents the Balfarg area, has expressed his sympathy to the family and reiterated police calls for witnesses to come forward.
“The loss of any life to an accident is a tragedy and all the more so when the victim is so young,” he told The Courier.
“I cannot begin to understand the loss the family will be feeling at this time and appeal for anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland.”
