Two people were treated for serious injuries following two separate road accidents in Freuchie.
The first incident occurred at around 11am on the Freuchie Mill Road, with a red Ford Fiesta colliding with a tractor.
Two women inside the car – a 47-year-old and a 73-year-old – were taken to Ninewells Hospital where they were described as being in a stable condition.
The incident caused tailbacks that affected traffic on the A92, with police re-opening Freuchie Mill Road at around 2.30pm having cleared both vehicles from the scene.
However, a second collision occurred at the same location less than an hour later, this time involving two cars.
An ambulance was in attendance at the scene, although no serious injuries were reported.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair, of Fife Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: “I urge all drivers to adhere to speed limits, be observant, and drive to road conditions.
“Always expect the unexpected, especially on rural roads bordered by farmland.”
