There will be ghostly goings-on in Kinghorn this week but it’s all in a good cause.
Volunteers from the RNLI lifeboat will dress as ghosts and ghouls from Kinghorn’s dark past as they hold their annual Spooky Walks to celebrate Hallowe’en.
The crew aim to beat the £1300 raised last year and hope to take over 350 people on a tour of the town’s past over the three nights.
Lifeboat helmsman and chief spook Keith Hay said, “This year we have some of the old favourites and also several new stories, many of which are inspired by Kinghorn’s murky past.”
He added, “It would be great to see as many people as possible joining us for a Spooky Walk. It is fund-raising events like this which allow the RNLI to maintain the volunteer-run service, and being one of the busiest lifeboats in Scotland it is crucial we continue with fund-raising events such as this.”
The walks take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7pm, with tours leaving every 20 minutes from the lifeboat station.
Tours can be booked by phoning the boathouse on 01592 890663 between 6.30-8.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the cost is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children (under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.)Further details are available at www.kinghorn.org.uk
