A lone female jogger was subjected to a frightening ordeal last week after being approached three times by the same man.

The incidents, which police have described as suspicious, happened as the woman ran past Kirkcaldy High School on Friday lunchtime.

The man drove his car alongside the woman and asked her to get into the vehicle.

She refused, but he approached her twice more once on Dunnikier Way and then near the crematorium on Rosemount Avenue, where this time he got out of his car and walked towards her.

The incidents happened at around 12.15pm when the area was busy with traffic, and police have appealed for witnesses.

The man, who was driving a red car, is described as being of Asian appearance, in his mid 40s, with thick, dark hair and a moustache. He was smartly dressed in a suit, shirt and tie.

Temporary Detective Inspector Jimmy Adamson said, “Friday, July 1 was the start of the school holidays and Dunnikier Way was busy with traffic travelling through the north of Kirkcaldy.

“I would appeal to any member of the public who observed the woman being approached by the man or has information regarding the incident to contact the police.”

Anyone with information that could assist the police should contact them on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where all calls are treated anonymously.
