A 24-year-old woman has been in court in connection with the death of a woman in the Templehall area of Kirkcaldy.
Lisa Quigley (30) died after a disturbance on Tuesday at a four-storey block in Valley Gardens.
One neighbour reported hearing the dying woman screaming for help from a balcony after the incident.
Police were called to the block at around 6.20pm. Officers set up a cordon around flats 288 to 302 and a police van guarded the scene.
Miss Quigley was rushed to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline by ambulance, however medics were unable to save her and she died soon after arrival.
A pensioner who lives across the road said she saw Miss Quigley crawling towards a veranda of the block and shouting for help.
“The ambulance and the police arrived at that time,” she said. “There was a crowd at the door. I only went out to get my bin.
“I haven’t slept much. It’s a shock on your own doorstep.”
Neighbours reported witnessing a flurry of police activity.
Another pensioner who lives nearby said: “I just happened to be at my window when I saw the blue lights, then it was police after police.”
