Nursery head teacher amazed by brass neck of copper thieves

Thieves have targeted a Methil nursery’s roof for the third time in just a few weeks.
Staff at Paxton Nursery in Methil arrived at work on Tuesday to discover that a substantial quantity of copper had been torn from the building overnight, causing extensive damage to the roof.
It is understood the latest crime was committed around 48 hours after copper was stolen from the same Selkirk Street building on Saturday night and only a few weeks after the school was hit during the second week of the October holidays.
Head teacher Heather Pozzi said: ”We’re going to have to get the whole thing re-roofed. I’m not sure how much has been taken but it looks like a fair amount.
”The worst thing is, though, that it’s a children’s nursery. It’s just so disappointing to think people can do such a thing and you begin to wonder where their values are.
”They obviously just want money in their pocket. It’s just so brazen, for this to be the third time that this has happened.”
