Fife Flyers ice hockey club will pay tribute to Kelly Dutiaume and her unborn twins during their final home match of the season on Saturday.
Players will wear a special jersey in the game against Dundee Stars in memory of the 38-year-old. Kelly died of a heart attack at the end of last month, just weeks before she was due to give birth.
She was married to the club’s Canadian player-coach Todd. The couple also have a three-year-old daughter Olivia.
The jerseys will display the message ”forever in our thoughts” and will be auctioned later, with all proceeds going to the Dutiaume Memorial Fund.
Club spokesman Allan Paul said: ”We would like to thank Rhino Sports for donating the jerseys and also thanks go to everyone throughout the UK ice hockey community for their kindness and support at this difficult time.”
Assistant coach Danny Stewart added: ”These strips are for a fantastic cause, not only to pay tribute to Kelly and the twins, but also a great servant to this club.
“Nobody can imagine what Todd is going through, but he’s been as brave as can be and he really appreciates all the support.”
