A 30-year-old man has died in a crash at Kirkcaldy waterfront.
The incident happened around 4pm on Sunday at Pathhead Sands during what police have described as “a meeting of Polish BMW enthusiasts”.
Police confirmed the man sustained fatal injuries following a collision with an item of ”road furniture”. They said no further information will be released until next of kin have been informed.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair, deputy head of road policing, said: “I am appealing for information or any material filmed on a mobile phone or other device which would assist us in our enquiries.
“We understand that a number of people who were attending this event left the area prior to the arrival of emergency services, and we would urge them to contact us as they may have information which would help us.
“We also understand that a number of people were using mobile phones and other devices to record the event, and I would appeal to them to contact us and make the material available to us.”
Pathhead Sands, which is yards from historic Ravenscraig Castle, includes a car park and green space which has seen traffic-calming measures installed, along with strategically-placed rocks, to discourage speeding drivers.
Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to contact police on 0845 600 5702.
