A £15,000 forklift has been stolen from a north-east Fife quarry.
Police say the nine-tonne yellow Caterpillar TH63 Telehandler a large forklift with telescopic arms and worth £15,000 may have been stolen to order.
They are appealing for information following the theft from the quarry at the Approach Woods near Melville Lodge roundabout on the A92 some time between last Friday evening and Monday morning.
A number of other items, including heavy duty batteries and fuel, were stolen from other vehicles during the raid.
Detective Constable Alan Swanston said: ”I would also like to hear from anyone who may have specific information about this theft as it is highly probable that the machine may have been stolen to order.
”It may be stored somewhere for a while before it is moved on and I would ask anyone who has seen one of these machines, either being transported on another vehicle or having arrived somewhere over the weekend, to contact us.”
Information can be passed on to Fife Police on 08456 005702 or in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
