Drivers heading to Saturday’s RAF Leuchars Airshow are advised to expect delays and to leave plenty of time for their journey.
Police are warning there is the potential for traffic congestion across the area, as tens of thousands of people head to and from the event.
To minimise delays drivers are advised to switch off their sat navs and follow the AA signs and directions from police.
Drivers will be directed towards one of three park-and-ride locations. Only visitors who have bought an on-base parking pass should travel to the base.
Chief Inspector Adrian Annandale, head of road policing in Fife, said: ”The Leuchars Airshow attracts more than 40,000 people, most travelling by road … I urge those attending to follow the signs and advice given and to leave themselves extra time to travel. Last year, when people travelling to the air show heeded this advice, traffic kept moving and delays were kept to a minimum.”
