The village of Kelty is all fired up to celebrate its milestone 20th anniversary coal race.
The Kelty race is one of only two in the world, with the other held in Yorkshire, and reflects the history of the village, which was built on 14 surrounding pits.
The event will begin at noon with the mascots’ race, which was last year won by Cowdenbeath FC’s Bluebell and the coo hopes to defend his title.
There will also be races for children, ladies and gents.
Organiser Michael Boyle said: “The race links our past with our present and that is the main thing.”
Funds raised at the event will be used to train a community guide dog.
