Plans that could see the village of Thornton swell by up to 1,000 new homes are to be put under the microscope tonight.
Members of the public have been invited to an event to discuss the proposal, which forms part of Fife Council’s local development plan.
The plan includes the identification of land to accommodate the perceived housing need over the next 12 years.
Around 3,000 new houses are proposed for the Glenrothes area 1,000 of which could be over four sites in Thornton.
Drop-in events to discuss the entire plan took place in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes last week but at the request of local councillor Ross Vettraino, a separate event to discuss Thornton takes place in the village today.
People can drop in at the town hall any time between 4pm and 7pm to view the document and talk to planning officers.
The council has been consulting on the plan since October 27 and it will continue to do so until Monday December 8.
