Two teenagers were robbed of their mobile phones by masked men armed with nunchucks. Police are hunting for the assailants who struck near an underpass in Dunfermline on Monday evening. The terrified 17-year-old boys were approached by the two men with the martial arts weapon as they sat on a bench in the St Margaret’s Drive area. They were threatened before the robbers, who wore skull masks, made off with their phones. The victims were left shaken by the incident, which happened around 10.45pm, but were unhurt. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to help find the thieves, who were white and spoke with Glaswegian accents. Detective Constable Conrad Musgrave said: “Neither victim was injured during this robbery but were understandably shaken. “Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.” Nunchucks, or nunchaku, are a traditional Japanese martial arts weapon consisting of two sticks connected by a short chain or rope. They can be used to inflict serious injuries.
