The girlfriend of a missing Fife man says she fears her partner has been forgotten about by the public.
Sandy Clarke has not been seen since leaving Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital during the early hours of June 4 last year.
The 38-year-old had been receiving treatment for a head injury before leaving the hospital and making his way along Hayfield Road.
There has since been no trace of Mr Clarke, despite an intensive search and public appeal.
However, 17 months on, Kayleigh Caulfield, 28, told The Courier she is still seeking closure on the mystery surrounding her partner’s whereabouts.
“I feel as though everybody has forgotten about him,” she said. “I know that Allan Bryant Jnr has had a lot of coverage and I feel that maybe people don’t realise Sandy is missing as well.”
Ms Caulfield says she is worried Sandy’s two-year-old daughter Lexi-Jo will want to know where her father is, before anyone has answers to offer.
“She will want to know where her dad is at some point. I just wish we knew what happened to him.”
A missing person inquiry was launched by Police Scotland on Mr Clarke’s disappearance last year.
Intensive searches have been conducted throughout the Kirkcaldy area and beyond but there remains no clue as to Mr Clarke’s whereabouts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
