The countdown to Christmas has well and truly started in Fife.
Festive lights were switched on in many communities, including Kirkcaldy, Cupar and Townhill, while athlete Eilidh Child did the honours in Kinross, switching on the lights from Kinross County Buildings.
In Townhill, Fife Provost Jim Leishman teamed up with Santa, while youngsters performed a nativity play and Brownies and Guides led carol singing.
Crowds turned out in Cupar for a day of Christmas fun that culminated in the town being lit up.
In Kirkcaldy, hundreds of people took part in a lantern parade through the town centre streets to a special performance of Bringing Of The Light, a specially- penned song to the town square.
The event ended with a bang when fireworks were set off from the roof of the Town House.
The celebrations in St Andrews featured music and dance, with Eddi Reader the star performer before the lights switch-on.
