A man who battered his ex-partner with a door has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
John Frazer, 45, of the Riggs, Auchtermuchty, admitted assaulting his ex-partner on May 11.
He also pleaded guilty to punching her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground and repeatedly striking her head and body with the door to her injury.
He further admitted breaching his bail by visiting his victim while in Dundee on a bail hearing.
Defence solicitor Douglas Williams said: “My client is in no way proud of what happened that day and he has sought to minimise it, which is reflected in his report.”
The court heard Frazer has since moved to Bolton, where he is in full-time employment.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond said: “Assault is a serious matter and it must have been very frightening for her.”
Frazer was sentenced to a community payback order with supervision for a year and 145 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
