Trio caught at twice the speed limit through Fife village
ByThe Courier Reporter
Cameras have detected three drivers travelling at almost double the speed limit through a Fife village.
Fife Safety Camera Partnership manager Andy Jones has described the conduct of the motorists as “shocking driving behaviour”, after they were detected in Gateside.
The partnership is stepping up its presence in the community after the incident.
Mr Jones said: “Our deployment site is next to the primary school.
“There are also busy junctions just ahead and taking account of the basic rule of motoring about street lights meaning 30mph, this is shocking driving behaviour.”
Mr Jones added: “This month’s deployment detected three drivers who will be reported to the procurator fiscal due to the excessive speeds involved more than 50mph.
“We will continue to deploy our mobile unit in a bid to encourage all drivers to slow down,” he concluded.
